Wrought Iron and Glass Wine Cellar Door in Chicago
M27A wine cellar door is a chance to make a functional thing into a feature. This one, for a Chicago home, is a custom wrought iron and glass door, square bar finished satin black, framing glass so the cellar is on display rather than hidden behind a slab.
A glass-front cellar door lets you see the collection and shows off the room, but it has to be built right: a solid, true-hanging frame so it swings clean and seals, and glass suited to the spot. Wine cellars run cooler and more humid than the rooms around them, so the door is part of how the space holds its climate. We build the frame to carry the glass and hang square so it works every day, not just on day one.
The frame is powder coated satin black for a hard, durable finish on a door that gets used, and the whole thing is a one-off custom fabrication in wrought iron, drawn to the opening.
If you are building a cellar and want the door to be part of the show, come talk it through with Signature Metal Works.
