Modern Wrought Iron Stair Railing in Chicago
R82Round bar gets typecast as traditional, but in satin black with a simple, repeating layout it reads clean and modern. That is what is going on with this interior railing in Chicago: round verticals, satin black, no ornament, just a calm vertical rhythm up the stairs.
Round bar is a little softer to the eye and the hand than square, which some people prefer on a railing they will grab a dozen times a day. Satin black is our most-used interior finish because it hits the middle: deeper than a flat matte, without the glare of a gloss, so it looks sharp in any light.
The wrought iron is painted, which indoors is both cheaper and more practical than powder coat and leaves you able to touch up a scuff yourself. We measured on site, built to the actual stair, and installed it with the same crew that fabricated it.
If you like the modern look but want something a touch softer than square bar, round is worth a look. Give Signature Metal Works a call.
