Modern Round Bar Interior Railing, Libertyville
R86R86 A custom wrought iron Modern style interior railing painted satin black using round bar elements for a residential property in Libertyville, Illinois.
Round bar is one of the cleanest ways to build a modern railing. No pickets, no scrollwork, just round bar verticals running the length of the run, evenly spaced. Satin black is the finish we use more than any other finish in the shop: enough sheen to look intentional, not so much that it reads glossy under normal light.
Painted finishes go through a prime coat first, then the color coat, which is how we get coverage that holds up on an interior piece for years without a touch-up. We build the railing to the actual dimensions of the space rather than a stock spec, so it fits the run it’s going into without gaps or awkward returns at the top and bottom.
Libertyville has a real mix of housing stock, older homes closer to the lake and newer construction further out, and round bar tends to work in either setting. It doesn’t fight with older trim and it doesn’t look out of place in a newer build either.
If you’re working through something similar for your own wrought iron railing, Signature Metal Works can walk you through the options. Give the shop a call.
