Contemporary Wrought Iron Railing in Naperville, IL

R74

A lot of Naperville homes come with a builder-grade railing that is fine and forgettable. Swapping it for a custom contemporary railing is one of the higher-impact changes you can make to a newer house, because the staircase usually sits dead center and the original railing is usually the cheapest thing the builder could get away with.

We went square bar here, painted black. Square reads more architectural than round, and it lines up with the straight lines already in a newer open-concept floor plan. The payoff is a staircase that finally looks designed rather than spec’d.

Newer houses tend to have stairs closer to square than the century-old places we work on in the city, but we still measure on site to be sure. The metal is primed and painted, which keeps the cost sensible indoors and lets you touch it up yourself if it ever takes a knock. If you are weighing a swap, our notes on replacing an existing railing are worth a read.

If you have been staring at a builder railing you never liked, that is an easy fix. Call Signature Metal Works and we will talk through what a custom one would look like for your Naperville home.
