Industrial bar grating wrought iron balcony in Arlington Heights

B3

We recently had the opportunity to fabricate a custom staircase and balcony for the Arlington Heights Fire Department. This building was completely gutted and needed a lot of work to rebuild it. The fire department trains every week within this facility to ensure that all the firefighters are ready for any fire disaster, and this balcony was created specifically for their training tower. All of the metal was hot dip galvanized and was fabricated to meet and exceed all city codes to ensure that the structure would last through decades of use. We understood that the building would be undergoing intense fire exposure and would need to hold up through anything the team would throw at it. We also fabricated a custom balcony in the Industrial style with bar grating elements, which was supported with metal suspension rods, and everything was galvanized and then put together with bolts.

We typically recommend the galvanization process for any commercial work if no particular color is needed. If that’s not feasible, we typically recommend a powder coating process with 2-3 coats to ensure the product can stand the test of time as well as have the ability to be any color the client may need. Both processes can ensure that whatever metal going into the structures we make has stronger protection and will not rust through just about any situation. Simply painting a metal product such as steel with regular paint will result in rust, so we strongly advise against it. Give us a call next time you’re looking for any commercial metal or residential work and we can work with you to fabricate anything you may need.
